October 27th 2007
It’s
nearly September, only 1 month away from October and so I’m desperately trying
to get organised the annual dinner and dance;
I would really like it to be a success and I’m going to
need lot of co-operation to make it so!!
The
annual dinner is going to be at:
The Bull Hotel,
Hall Street
,
Long melford,
Sudbury
,
Suffolk
,
CO10 9JG

Tickets
are on sale from now (basically I really need people to sign up and pay as soon
as they can!)
Tickets
for all will be £30
I
finalised the details with the ‘Business Development Manager’ today, the
evening if it runs smoothly looks like it could be a lot of fun.
The
logistics are as follows:
- At
5.45pm onwards, members, family and friends to meet at the clubhouse for a
welcome reception drink. (taxis can be arranged nearer the time at an added
cost however!)
- By
6.15pm (ish!!) we would all make our way to the bull hotel and congregate in
the lounge, all drinks here will have to be bought.
- At
6.45pm we will be called for the meal, and be seated in the dining room,
with a complementary glass of wine (red/white at your choice). Drinks can be
bought throughout the meal.
- By
8.30pm the meal will be finished and speeches will begin with the
presentations to follow
- The
dancing will commence from 9.15pm onwards until midnight
The
menu has been carefully chosen hopefully to suit all, if there are any
particular dietary requirements please let no know, as well as vegetarian
numbers it would be helpful if you could indicate on the form at the club as
well.
Starter
-
Chicken
and Bacon salad
-
Chilled

Sirloin of Beef with a Shallot, Garlic and
Madeira

made apple pie with custard or cream

Please
let me know if there is a particular variation you would like!
There
will be a head table, with smaller surrounding tables of ten, any seating groups
will be gratefully received at least by the 20th to allow me to
confirm with the hotel.
There
is also the opportunity to stay over the night, at the discounted price of £55
per person with breakfast in the morning!
We
have a really great band booked for the evening called serendipity, if you want
to have a listen to some of their music you can at www.serendipity.eu.com
With
all the preparation, I really want this evening to be as great success as it can
be; so please sign up at the club on the list or email me, either way get your
name down and your friends and families’ names to fill those 80 seats!!! It
will be really nice to see a good turn out and allow the last year of racing and
hard work to be celebrated with everyone there.
It’s
vital that I have the names and the money by the 20th October as I have to give
final numbers to the hotel by the 21st, if you haven’t paid by the
20th, or if you cancel after the 20th it will be too late;
and you’ll lose your money or will have missed the opportunity to join the
fun!!
Tickets from Sue T
and with only 80 places available we shall be running a list on the Club
Noticeboard so please write your names there if you can.
18th August 2007
Grand Club Barbecue at Rancho Hogsbjerg (big thank you to Rosemary!) from 4 til
late. Cost will be £5 per head for 'adults' and £3 for anyone under 16. Family
and friends most welcome. Food and drink provided but feel free to BYO too!
Please let Sue know if you are coming.
Not sure how to get there? Here are Sue's instructions :
Coming
from
Sudbury, turn right at the lights by the Indian! Not sure if that is Ballingdon
Hill? Go
along that road, turning right at Finch Hill. Go
straight until you come to a junction where you have to go right or left, go
RIGHT even though the signposts say the same thing for right and left, The
farm is on the left after going straight,
